Mint Juleps, Mayhem, and Murder

August 22, 2010

This is the fifth book in a cozy mystery series by Sara Rosett. The first book is Moving is Murder. Many cozy mystery series leave the reader wondering how one relatively peaceful village can be home to so much murder. Sara Rosett solves this problem by having her reader move frequently. Like the author, Ellie Avery is married to an Air Force pilot. She has two small children and a part-time organizing business. And wherever she and Mitch move, mysteries crop up and Ellie investigates. This is the second book set in North Dawkins, Georgia.  Air Force wives can be a close-knit group and Ellie is happy to help Denise, the recently widowed wife of the Squadron Commander.  But all of the suspects are friends, neighbors, or coworkers of Mitch and Ellie, and it’s hard to forsee a happy outcome. I like Ellie because she generally behaves sensibly, not taking risks like many fictional sleuths, and has a good relationship with her husband and children. Find out more at the author’s website.
